Chart Signal Type

There are two types of signals that can be used in charts.

Time Signals

Add time signals to charts to organize data chronologically.

Adding to Charts

Click the button in a chart’s setup.

Configuration

  • Name
    • Enter the name of the signal.
  • Time format
    • Select the format to display the date and/or time.
      • Timestamp (Unix)
      • Date Time
      • Date
      • Time

CAN Signals

Add CAN signals to charts to view and analyze data uploaded in trace files.

Adding to Charts

  1. Click the button in a chart’s setup.
  2. Select a CAN message.
  3. Check the desired signals and apply changes.
    • Click the Select all button to add all signals from a CAN message.

Configuration

  • Name
    • Enter the name of the signal.
  • CAN Signal
    • Select the desired CAN signal.
  • Signal Stat
    • Select the signal statistic to use for data aggregation: average, max, min, sum, or count
  • Devices
    • Click the Select Devices button to select the desired devices.

Thresholds

Thresholds can be added to individual CAN signals. Data points that meet the threshold will be included in the results, while all other values will be filtered out from the results.

To add a threshold to a signal:

  1. Click the button in the chart header to access the chart’s setup.
  2. Select a signal to add a threshold to.
  3. Toggle the Threshold button at the bottom of the dialog.
  4. Select an operator and enter the value to compare data against.
  5. Click the button to save the changes.
